I used to think that Chemistry is simple and just involoves experiments. But now I think that Chemistry consists of theories and many formulas behind all the experiments. It is actually not as simple as you think. I love the results of the experiments as they are unexpected.
I used to think that Chemistry was just all about playing about with chemicals But now after carrying out the experiments, I realised that Chemistry is not as simple as simply mixing chemicals, but there are complicated theories and formulas behind them I love carrying out the experiments as they are fun
I used to think that Chemistry was uninteresting. Now I think Chemistry has many theories bhind the reactions and not just plain mixing of chemicals together. I like the experiments as they are interesting and give us new theories to explore into.
We used to think that chemistry cluster would be rather boring and only doing experiments and also playing with chemicals. But having been into this cluster, we learnt that we do carry out experiments, but we also have a lot of fun carrying them out. However, we do hope that we can do more experiments like making perfume that can be used in our daily lives. The good thing about being in this cluster is that we get to be exposed to chemistry better and other experiments that would only be carried out in year3 or only in chemistry clusters like this. Furthermore, we enjoy this very much! :D
We used to think that this chemistry cluster would be pretty boring and rather dull, as well, we figured that we couldn't use any dangerous chemicals or do any dangerous experiments. Thus, we figured there would be a lot of theory. But after going through this cluster, we learnt that many chemistry experiments could be conducted with simple apparatus, and it was actually fun and enjoyable. However, we hope that we can actually conduct more experiments, and that we don't have to always be against time, as in, we did not have enough time to finish some experiments. The thing we like about being in this cluster is that we get to learn more about chemistry, and we also enjoyed carrying out the experiments, and having new theories and formulas to research and to learn about. Overall, we enjoyed this cluster very much ;D
the first time we knew we were in chemistry cid cluster we thought we were going to do the type of experiments that we are suppose to mix chemicals or do research, learn more about chemicals. however, we were told to make soap, esters, bouncing balls etc, we were very shocked and surprised. how does making soap, esters etc have to do with chemistry? but after doing and researching on them, we learned that chemistry do apply to our daily life and we were very surprised. we totally enjoyed ourselves, and definitely learned and gained many things. natural curiosity, perseverance etc. were a few habits of mind that we used unknowingly. All in all, it was definitely a fun and interesting way to learn and discover more about chemistry ! but also, we think that we should have been given a longer time to do research as sometimes, it was quite rush.
We used to think that chemistry would not be as fun as forensic science of the bio cluster. However, after the many experients done in the labs, we think that chemistry is quite interesting after all. There are lots of nice stuff to experiment and we have gained some knowledge during this term. We liked the different kind of experiments done in the lab, ie. making of ice cream, the pH indicator, the making of bouncing balls with whit glue etc. The trip to NYP was also very memorable, although we dare not use the soap made. Having got to deal with those toxic chemicals, we have to be extra cautious in the lab and it can be quite annoying having to make sure u dont touch a little of those corrosive stuff. Actually, many things in this programme can be improved. Before each experiments, we have to surf the net for research. This can be quite tedious and time consuming and students could actually get research before hand to save the trouble of having to set up comps and stuff. Of course, with more time, we can relax and conduct the experiments with more ease without having to worry that we have no time left. Lastly, we find that chem cluster enjoyable, and we are quite lucky because students of other clusters seem very stressed up and end yp hating CID alot. Yea, hopefully the next CID cluster everyone wont have to 'suffer' as much :)
